LSA to support classroom learning interventions and pastoral routines
The appointed LSA will support pupils with reading phonics and maths practice help scaffold tasks for different abilities and assist with behaviour and pastoral support. The LSA will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to record progress adapt resources and contribute to a nurturing learning environment in Birmingham.
Responsibilities
- Work with pupils one-to-one and in small groups to deliver planned learning activities and interventions.
- Support classroom routines encourage independence and scaffold learning across subjects.
- Prepare and adapt resources support practical activities and help supervise learning stations.
- Monitor pupil progress keep accurate records and share observations with teachers and leaders in Birmingham.
- Assist with pastoral tasks and support positive behaviour strategies so pupils can engage with learning.
Person specification
- Previous experience supporting children in school settings and confidence delivering small-group work as an LSA.
- Patient organised and able to adapt approaches to meet different needs in Birmingham.
- Good communication skills for working with teachers parents and external staff.
- Able to start January 2026 and participate in pre-start induction and handover before January 2026.
