The Teaching Assistant will support the class teacher by delivering planned interventions providing in-class support for mixed-ability groups assisting with curriculum resources and promoting positive behaviour. This Teaching Assistant role in Greenwich combines classroom-based support with occasional small-group delivery and pastoral duties. A full induction and handover will be provided before January 2026 ensuring the Teaching Assistant can be effective from January 2026.
Role responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one support and small-group interventions to raise standards.
- Support the teacher in planning and preparing differentiated resources for lessons.
- Monitor pupil progress maintain records and contribute to intervention reviews.
- Aid pupils social and emotional development through positive routines and nurture strategies.
- Assist with trips assemblies and extracurricular activities to enrich school life in Greenwich.
Person specification
- Experience supporting pupils in classroom intervention or SEND contexts with confidence as a Teaching Assistant.
- Good organisational skills strong communication and the ability to collaborate with teachers and parents.
- Flexible patient and committed to inclusive practice within the Greenwich community.
- Able to start January 2026 and attend induction and training prior to January 2026.
