The Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing the operating room maintaining aseptic technique and supporting surgeons during diverse and complex procedures. This role requires strong clinical competency in trauma orthopedic neuro vascular and general surgery cases with experience in a Trauma Level I environment. Candidate must meet the minimum 3 years required experience (5 years preferred) and hold CST certification.
Responsibilities:Prepare OR suites instrumentation and surgical supplies for scheduled and emergency procedures.
Maintain strict aseptic technique infection control standards and safety protocols (laser radiation sharps).
Assist surgeons during procedures across multiple specialties including Neuro Ortho Vascular Trauma Plastics GYN ENT Urology General Surgery Robotics and Thoracic.
Support required case types: outpatient community hospital orthopedic neuro and vascular.
Participate in on-call rotation: 1 weeknight per week and every 2nd/3rd weekend (-minute response time).
Cover one night shift during the contract if needed.
Follow Universal Protocol/Time-Out manage case carts and ensure proper sterilization/disinfection processes.
Function efficiently in a high-acuity Trauma Level I setting and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Minimum 3 years Surgical Tech experience (5 years preferred).
Trauma Level I experience required.
Community hospital experience preferred.
Travel experience required.
Weekend coverage required (3 per schedule).
Must declare all RTO at submission; pending license not accepted.
Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
Locals not accepted.
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3 5 years recent hospital OR experience with exposure to:
Trauma Level I
Neuro Ortho Vascular General Surgery
Outpatient & community hospital OR
Complex trauma cases (GSW/stab wounds MVAs amputations)
Experience with robotics (Da Vinci Xi) and endoscopic procedures preferred.
CST (NBSTSA) Required
BLS Required
