L3Harris in Brighton are part of Release Systems and the Mission Avionics sector operating in the Aerospace domain. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide including the F-35 along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon. Brighton designs manufactures and tests a large portion of its release systems portfolio. This facility offers 48500 square feet of manufacturing space for the development of high-performance multi-station solutions used to launch air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions from bay wing or fuselage stations.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Build and test precision electro/mechanical motors and various other precision components used on aircrafts to drawing and relevant quality requirements.
- Assemblies include solder wires tags components to boards or terminals bearing fitting measurement of shaft radial and end play.
- Carry out electrical test and inspection to drawings and specification using appropriate equipment such as oscilloscopes multi-metres vibration rigs and environmental ovens.
- Asses returns for repair/refurbishment and determine repair requirements DIRs (Defect Investigation Report). Strip clean test and re-build to specification.
- Complete test documentation and all relevant paperwork and maintain traceability of individual parts.
- Conduct their work in a safe manner. Use PPE where appropriate.
- When required carryout other reasonable tasks outside of the normal pattern of work as requested by the respective manager.
- Assist in training other members of staff when required.
- To personnel manage within authorised limits when supervisor is absent.
- To support design department in trials and pre-production units.
- To liaise and support MED (Manufacturing Engineering Dpt) in the writing of the manufacturing process (route card narrative and plannings). offer process improvement and ensure a smooth transition of first batches of production units from design.
- Support activities in the other assembly departments as and when required.
What youll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Electro-Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) & Cirris test equipment experience
- Experience in using precision measuring equipment and electronic test equipment such as: DMM Meggers oscilloscope power suppliers etc.
- Good understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Drawings.
