The Department of Agricultural Economics College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a new leader of our top-ranked Agribusiness graduate program. This professional Masters of Agribusiness (MAB) program is offered in collaboration with the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. This is a full-time 9-month tenure-track or tenured academic appointment beginning August 1 2026. The position will include an administrative appointment as Director of the Master of Agribusiness Program. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Associate Professor or Professor depending on qualifications.
We seek an emerging or established scholar in food and agribusiness management drawing from disciplines such as agricultural economics economics management marketing or strategy. The successful candidate will markedly advance our understanding of agribusiness management marketing strategies economic development and societal welfare. Research areas may include but are not limited to supply chain management strategic management and planning concentration and mergers/acquisitions in the food and fiber industry and the application of managerial economics to domestic and international policy issues.
The successful candidate will work closely with graduate students of the MAB program serving as both an academic advisor and a professional development mentor. They will play a pivotal role in enhancing the national and international reputation of our top-ranked Agribusiness program and the College through innovative agribusiness research interdisciplinary collaborations within the College and securing external funding. Additionally the candidate will actively engage with the Agribusiness Food and Consumer Economics Research Center (AFCERC) contributing to its mission and expanding its impact.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance a nationally recognized research program with support from extramural funding.
- Oversee the development and administration of the MAB program including its students and the Intercollegiate Faculty of Agribusiness.
- Actively recruit mentor and support graduate students throughout their academic and professional journeys.
- Teach essential courses in the MAB curriculum such as managerial economics financial management marketing strategy or quantitative methods.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with industry partners to enhance program relevance and impact.
- Conduct research and publish findings in key areas including agribusiness and food systems finance strategic management marketing and supply chain management.
Required Qualifications
- A PhD in agricultural economics economics marketing management strategy or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging in private industry excellence in teaching and a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven ability to secure external funding.
- The ability to work as part of a team and excellent communication skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with executive education is an asset
