About the team and the role
The eBay Strategy team defines eBays strategic direction our ambition where we play and how we win. We partner closely with product technology and regional business teams to turn strategy into action across the entire customer experience.
As Principal eBay Strategy based in Dreilinden youll lead high-impact cross-functional projects and a team of strategy professionals in Europe. Youll develop key elements of eBays long-term strategy bring creative and pragmatic solutions to complex business challenges and advise senior leaders on strategic priorities. This role offers the opportunity to influence eBays global direction while fostering collaboration and innovation across the organization.
What you will accomplish
Lead the development of strategies that differentiate eBay in the market defining clear initiatives to support long-term growth.
Guide cross-functional projects with senior and executive stakeholders to address critical business priorities.
Deliver actionable insights through market competitive and business analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
Translate strategic recommendations into executable plans by collaborating with product technology and business teams.
Develop and communicate clear compelling storylines for senior leadership presentations and strategic discussions.
Mentor and empower a talented strategy team to deliver high-quality work and grow professionally.
Build thought leadership by anticipating industry trends and developing innovative perspectives that shape eBays future.
What you will bring
10 years of professional experience including at least 3 years in a top-tier strategy consulting firm in a project leadership role.
MBA or masters degree in a relevant field (e.g. finance engineering) required.
Proven ability to design creative structured solutions to complex business problems balancing analytical rigor with innovation.
Strong executive presence with excellent communication skills able to distill complex ideas into clear simple narratives.
Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring diverse high-performing teams in a collaborative environment.
Deep analytical capabilities with the ability to derive insights from both qualitative and quantitative data.
Expertise in technology sectors such as e-commerce retail payments or consumer products is highly desirable.
Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving impact in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
