Cafeteria Worker

Lawrencetown Consolidated School

Term Position

Effective immediately until March 13 2026 with the possibility of extension

4.0 hours per day

Rate of Pay: As per CUPE Collective Agreement ($20.60)

Closing Date for Applications: Midnight December 3 2025

Terms and conditions of employment including wages are in accordance withthe Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.

Qualifications and Abilities:

Must have experience in food and menu preparation.
Must be organized neat/tidy and have clean work habits.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
Must have knowledge of food and nutrition policy for Nova Scotia Public Schools.
Must enjoy working with students.
Must have a current Food Handling Certificate.

Responsibilities:

Cashier as required.
Cooking baking and preparation of food.
Keeping daily accounts and inventory control.
Selling canteen items at recess and noon.
Kitchen duties as required in coordination with the cafeteria team (stocking shelves cleaning dishes etc.)
Support of the school recycling program.
Substitute for Head Cafeteria Worker as required.

Qualified applicants from within CUPE Bargaining Unit Local 3876 will be considered first. Should there be no qualified applicants from within the Bargaining Unit new applicants will beconsidered.
