We represent a food & beverage manufacturing facility that prioritizes safety compliance and a proactive culture. Were hiring a Safety Specialist who will partner with plant leadership to build maintain and continuously improve safety programs from audits and training to incident investigations and prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Help review revise and implement plant-level safety policies and procedures to meet regulatory (local state federal) and corporate standards.
- Work with operations and plant teams to assess current work practices identify hazards and advise on safety improvements.
- Manage incident reporting and investigations: determine root cause(s) assign corrective actions and track closure to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and deliver regular (monthly) safety training for all plant associates; conduct specialized or refresher training as needed.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously refine the safety training program.
- Conduct routine audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal safety programs and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production maintenance and management to embed safety culture into daily operations.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (assembly machine shop or comparable)
- Supervisory or team-lead experience in a high-volume fast-paced facility
- Hands-on experience conducting safety audits inspections or incident investigations
- Prior experience delivering safety training or coaching associates on safety protocols
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (strongly preferred)
- Strong communication skills: ability to interface with floor staff leadership and cross-functional teams
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Bachelors degree (or related) in Occupational Safety Environmental Health Industrial Hygiene or related field
- Additional safety credentials such as CPE CSP or CIH a plus but not required
- Prior experience in food & beverage or high-volume manufacturing plants (preferred)
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance plant-level safety documentation and safety-management systems
