Job Summary
Directly supports patient care as directed by the Clinical Dermatologist and serves as the phototherapy registered practical nurse in the UVB Clinic. Responsible for assessing planning educating and implementing treatment for patient with dermatological and skin related disorders. Performs a variety of medical procedures using solutions-focused approaches such as; delivery of phototherapy treatment and full-body skin checks. Responds to and triages phone calls give advice as appropriate and able to be flexible to organize schedules with the doctor and the patient. Responds to paitent probles that arise in the absence of the physician. Organizes the daily activities of the clinic and liaises with the physician other nurses clerks and other staff within HHS and other health care settings to ensure continuity of patient care.
Qualifications :

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
BCLS certification required at time of hire
Membership in the Dermatology Nursing Association preferred
1 year experience in a dermatology setting with a sound knowledge of dermatology and skin related disorders preferred.
Exceptional health assessment and treatment planning skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Problem solving abilities and critical thinking skills
Ability to co-ordinate and interface with community resources and provide comprehensive discharge letters to physicians.
Satisfactory employment and attendance record
Other duties as assigned
Additional Information :
Hours: Monday Wednesday Friday Day shifts 0700 - 1315 (Hours subject to change based on operational requirements)
Salary: $35.29 to $38.16 per hour
