Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the acquisition of materials at the most economic price possible considering commodities market fluctuations shipping and raw goods prices from both U.S.-based and global vendors which may entail purchasing materials in one country to be shipped to another country across the globe. Responsible for the timely delivery of goods and may source a variety of categories and services used in the Universal Kids Resort hotel and theme park.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with business units to optimize strategic sourcing efforts total cost of ownership analysis and develop negotiation and pricing strategies for new projects to achieve optimal value at or below budget.
- Monitor trends forecast potential fluctuations in product availability and create strategies to ensure continued delivery of goods in support of ongoing operations.
- Manage the RFx process working with internal stakeholders across all lines of business to understand key requirements prioritize projects and execute in a timely manner.
- Identify and develop long term category strategies for hotel and theme park services and related commodity groups that can be used globally and nationwide. Identify critical long-term issues that could affect the planning and decision-making process.
- Lead team of sourcing specialists to deliver value to key stakeholder groups providing timely actionable feedback and facilitating potential career growth.
- Periodically review performance with suppliers and business partners to review project performance procure to pay (P2P) opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Supervises Non-Exempt Team Members
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Develops and provides updates to senior management on the competitive marketplace commodity trends and labor rates within the targeted commodity segments.
- This role will collaborate with internal and external business partners and must have a high level of business acumen and integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities (KSAs) required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel MS PowerPoint required.
- Ability to communicate effectively through various levels of management.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
