Job Summary

The Cloud Data Platform & Integration Architect is responsible for designing scalable cloud-agnostic enterprise data platforms and reusable integration patterns. This role defines end-to-end architecture for data ingestion transformation movement and interoperability across analytical and operational ecosystems. The architect partners closely with engineering governance and domain teams to deliver secure governed and high-performing data solutions that support enterprise data strategy and AI readiness.

Major Responsibilities

  • Architect cloud-native data platforms (lakehouse warehouse streaming ingestion services).
  • Develop enterprise integration patterns (ETL/ELT CDC APIs event streaming virtualization).
  • Create reusable reference architectures onboarding templates and platform design guidelines.
  • Partner with cloud engineering to define capability roadmaps and platform guardrails.
  • Enable domain teams with best practices on ingestion modeling and data product onboarding.
  • Ensure platform designs meet enterprise governance metadata lineage and security standards.
  • Support modernization and migration accelerators.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and support delivery teams through design cycles.
  • Evaluate emerging platform technologies and recommend improvements for scalability and reliability.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • 812 years in data architecture platform engineering cloud engineering or integration architecture.
  • Hands-on expertise in AWS/Azure/GCP data services (multi-cloud or cloud-agnostic architecture).
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT pipelines CDC API integration and event streaming systems.
  • Deep understanding of batch streaming and real-time data integration patterns.
  • Working knowledge of data modeling metadata patterns and lineage standards.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into data architecture designs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience with lakehouse frameworks (Databricks Snowflake).
  • Container orchestration or serverless design experience.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD patterns.
  • Exposure to data mesh or federated data architecture models.
  • Background working with regulated business domains or compliance frameworks.

Foundational Skills

  • Clear communication and facilitation.
  • Requirements translation and business engagement.
  • Architectural decision-making and design thinking.
  • Ability to simplify complex platform concepts for non-technical teams.
  • Cross-functional collaboration across engineering cloud governance and delivery.
  • Agile delivery mindset.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or related field.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS Azure GCP) preferred.
  • Architecture certifications (TOGAF C4 etc.) are a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $149k - $180k depending on job-related knowledge skills experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
