Primary Function of Position:
The da Vinci Senior Area Sales Director plays a critical role in building and developing the field sales team within his/her Region. The Senior Area Sales Director is responsible to lead and coordinate the Capital Sales force and manage the sales of da Vinci Surgical Systems and to grow the utilization of their installed base in working with Area Sales Directors Area Sales Managers and the Clinical organization. This will include managing installations within the assigned region and the hiring training and development of a dynamic Capital sales team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build a highly motivated Sales Team by hiring training developing and retaining top talent to drive adoption of da Vinci surgery.
- Lead and manage a fast growing and changing organization as well as execute to a hiring plan to meet expected growth targets.
- Be responsible for strategic planning and execution in alignment with the GM.
- Drive sales by analyzing territories and structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations to achieve objectives for the region.
- Provide coaching and development across the organization with the goal of developing future leaders and stronger salespeople as the company grows.
- Work closely with the Area Sales Directors & Clinical Sales Directors to develop the strategic accounts across the region.
- Develop and implement sales activities to achieve and exceed organizational goals.
- Oversee the management of the sales process of da Vinci Surgical Systems into new hospitals and upgrades into existing hospitals.
- Assist Area Sales Directors Clinical Sales Directors Area Sales Managers/Clinical Sales Manager in negotiating key accounts.
- Partner with Area Sales Directors Area Sales Managers/Clinical Sales Directors & Managers in closing deals sales presentations and organizing territories.
- Responsible for achievement of sales forecasts and meeting operational budgets.
- Provide support and assistance as required to other regions to achieve the sales objectives and the development of the sales team working closely with the Sales Director of the region.
Qualifications :
Required Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- University Degree or equivalent.
- 10 years of experience in Sales leadership positions in the medical device industry.
- 8 years of experience in manager level positions and must have managed managers.
- Previous experience managing and leading a team of high performing individuals.
- Results oriented: a proven track record of establishing clear expectations setting objectives and delivering.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate people to embrace a vision.
- Ability to achieve organizational focus on key priorities and operate effectively in a dynamic and unstructured environment.
- Effective communication skills in both English and another EU language are musts.
- Ability to travel up to 80% dependent upon account distribution.
- Fluent in English and local language as required.
