Description

As a Field Service Engineer at Honeywell your primary responsibility will be to deliver technical support and services to our customers. This includes diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues performing repairs and maintenance and ensuring customer satisfaction. Your expertise coupled with a keen attention to detail will be essential in providing high-quality service and fostering strong relationships with our customers.

You will report directly to the Senior Digital Solutions Team Manager and will operate from designated customer sites in the Montreal area. This position involves a mix of on-site and remote work depending on the specific needs of our customers.

In this position you will significantly influence the success of our customers by ensuring the dependable operation of their equipment and systems. Additionally you will help drive business growth by recognizing opportunities for service contract renewals and promoting the upselling of additional services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote establish and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Understand implement and troubleshoot building network topologies including but not limited to BACnet Cbus Modbus and LON.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on various servers and stations within the centralized management system which includes tasks such as backup cleaning and updating.
  • Ensure that all assigned preventive maintenance tasks are completed punctually and within the designated month.
  • Implement and maintain integrator systems in a cyber-secure environment.
  • Verify functional performance to ensure proper operation in accordance with contractual requirements utilizing drawings workshop operation sequences and other relevant documentation.
  • Manage client projects and/or participate in the delivery of service or installation work. This includes but is not limited to engineering creating drawings programming documentation installation subcontractor management startup testing and client acceptance. Collaborate with the local engineer to understand the scope of work as well as the required materials software graphics and construction details.
  • Stay updated on new technologies industry changes and product developments.
  • Collaborate closely with dispatch and clients to meet both client and organizational expectations.
  • Be prepared to perform certain tasks outside of regular working hours when necessary.
  • Respond to emergency calls and be available on-call as required.
  • Provide quotes to clients in response to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Services (RFS).
  • Conduct training sessions for clients and team members.
  • Ensure that all work is documented according to established standards and that proper follow-up and maintenance of documentation is carried out.
  • Adhere to Honeywell performance indicators and comply with workplace health and safety standards.
  • Travel occasionally within the province of Quebec as required by clients.


YOU MUST HAVE

  • More than 2 years of experience working with cloud environments.
  • Over 3 years of experience in computer architecture embedded systems
  • Expertise in interfaces algorithms cybersecurity and/or networking. Holds a college diploma or a bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical field such as engineering or computer science.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the field of service engineering or a similar role.
  • More than 2 years of experience in a Building Automation System (BAS) environment specializing in support deployment automation and control systems including HVAC and lighting aimed at enhancing building efficiency and operational performance
  • Proficient in troubleshooting within Building Automation Systems (BAS) using industry-standard communication protocols such as IP BACnet Modbus OPC SNMP and API.
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Valid Drivers license

  • Strong commitment to safety and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of IP network technologies (switches routers firewalls) and solutions along with proficiency in IP addressing and allocation.
  • Ability to plan and schedule large projects effectively.
  • Willingness to develop extensive product knowledge through formal training and on-the-job experience with the latest Honeywell technologies.
  • Able to work collaboratively and provide technical direction within a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
