Job Summary
Interim Chief AI Officer (Contract)
Value Driven Solutions seeks an Interim Chief AI Officer to ignite and institutionalize AI functions in high-growth portcos (> $100M ARR) building from greenfield to a high-performing team that delivers $20M$200M in quantified value creation over 1218 months. With up to 75% travel to HQ and key sites youll embed as a C-suite peer conducting holistic AI audits against VDSs Agentic Roadmap crafting transformative strategies (e.g. AI for 15% margin expansion) and executing 100-day plans with pilots in core functions like supply chain or revenue ops.
Youll recruit/scale teams (5-15 hires) govern ethics/risks (AI boards audits) and forge vendor ecosystems all while tracking progress via balanced scorecards presented to PE boards. Transitioning to permanence youll leave a self-sustaining org with playbooks and culture. For proven CAIOs whove scaled AI in PE-backed turnarounds.
VDS provides partner access and benchmarking for outsized impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3-year AI strategies tied to portfolio theses with phased investments.
- Lead talent acquisition org design and capability building.
- Oversee portfolio of initiatives ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Champion AI governance innovation labs and M&A AI diligence.
- Drive cultural transformation via exec coaching and metrics.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced degree/MBA; 10 years leadership 3 as CAIO/interim in PE.
- Track record: $50M AI value in scaled orgs.
- Strategic vision with hands-on tech (ML basics).
- Boardroom polish and change leadership.
- Global mindset for U.S./intl portcos.
Preferred Experience:
- AI in industrials/consumer for EBITDA focus.
- Building AI CoEs in consulting firms.
- Publications on AI strategy.
