Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer positions must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for the running of the Seismic and LOCA facility and responsible for the management of Technicians who will perform these activities and various activities as assigned by the Operations Manager or The Facilities Director
- Is a key contributor to defining and focusing Element goals and objectives in alignment with his/her specific engineering discipline
- Has an advanced ability to define solutions for and lead extremely complex challenges and new projects
- Serves as a key or top level technical advisor and may be recognized as an expert in their given technical discipline within Element and/or the global TIC sector
- Skilled communicator of idea concepts practices etc. to stakeholders at all levels of the company
- Has come to be seen as a go-to mentor and expert by the technical community
Skills / Qualifications
- Requires 15 years in Nuclear Qualification with LOCA Seismic Commercial Grade Dedication
- Knowledge of IEEE-323 IEEE 344 and various other nuclear requirements
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety
- Possesses a depth of understanding and experiences which integrates of the main areas of his/her chosen engineering field
- Also possesses advanced knowledge of the theories principles and concepts of the disciplines
- Has a proven track record and ability to lead technology the development of integrated technical solutions across the spectrum of Element capabilities globally
- Has an understanding of both internal and external capabilities which can be utilized to support and further business opportunities across Element
- Will have at least 15 years relevant experience post-degree or higher academic qualifications
- Is thoroughly knowledgeable of internal capabilities and understands external resources available globally
- In-depth understanding of testing concepts
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
Physical Demands:
- Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)
- Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50lbs periodically
