Basic Job Functions:
The Stand Guide Builder is responsible for working with a team to provide excellent quality and service to the Rolling Mill through assembly and disassembly of rolling mill stands and guides per the rolling schedule. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the mill team where needed willingness to train and perform other job positions in the Roll Shop assisting other teammates with crane operation and rigging as needed. Additionally the successful candidate will utilize computer resources to locate parts manage work orders and track completed work. The qualified candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime rotating shifts holidays and weekends as required.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to Safety by actively engaging in building and improving the divisions Safety Culture Processes and Procedures
- Able to successfully pass remote crane operator and mobile equipment requirements.
- Previous experience in mechanical work and/or manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rolling Mill experience
- Mechanical aptitude
- Relevant cross-training experience
