Description

Kowloon Junior School is looking for an enthusiastic experienced and exemplary Music Teacher to join our Expressive Arts Team from January to March 2026. This role is designed to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to Music Dance Drama & Performance across the whole school while empowering our teaching staff with the expertise and resources necessary to create an inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers specialists and families to ensure all students reach their full potential

Our goal is to employ staff who are confident and comfortable working with groups of children across the primary phase and passionate about learning to achieve our vision of Success for Every Child

The Temporary Full Time Expressive Arts Teacher (Music) will further be expected to:

  • Work closely with the Vice Principal and colleagues in the Expressive Arts Department to develop and maintain the current programme across the school (Y1-Y6) incorporating Music Dance Drama and Performance into the curriculum
  • Teach music skills across the school
  • Coordinate and prepare students for concerts/ performances within the school and across the foundation
  • Coordinate curriculum documentation
  • Support the schools assembly programme
  • Coordinate the school choirs and orchestra
  • Add value to our musically talented cohort of students
  • Coordinate the provision of peripatetic music teaching
  • Represent the school at ESF Curriculum Group meetings
  • Work with all teachers to ensure the Expressive Arts programme has authentic links across the PYP programme of Inquiry
  • Work closely with the PYP Coordinator to promote enhance and develop the Arts across the school

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Education or
  • Bachelors Degree in any subjects with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education) or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher status with additional expressive arts qualificationsideally with expertise/experience in music

The successful applicant will be responsible to the Principal and will have a close working relationship with the Vice Principals
