Product Design Director

Hi!

At Factorial were expanding beyond HR and Finance to include IT Cloud and Device Management creating the first truly connected people and IT management experience. Were looking for a Product Design Director to lead the design and growth from 0 to 5M ARR.

The role

As a Product Design Director youll lead several product teams in close collaboration with Product and Engineering Directors. Youll be responsible for building and developing a strong group of Product Designers focused on solving the real day-to-day problems companies face helping them reduce cost time and errors.

Youll manage a budget of roughly 34M with the goal of identifying the biggest opportunities within your scope designing the right team structure and defining the long-term vision and business plans for your area. Youll be expected to multiply the investment 23x year over year and launch new products from 0 to 1M in under twelve months.

To achieve this youll work closely with potential prospects and existing customers to understand problems first-hand and with other teams at Factorial such as Sales and Customer Experience to identify gaps set business goals and define our product vision.

As a Director youll also contribute to the most strategic decisions across the product organization working with other Product Leaders to align Factorials vision and business goals.

Our goal at Factorial in this space is to help companies manage everything related to devices security and access in a secure and automated way. We aim to connect the entire employee journey end-to-end from the moment they join the company to the moment they leave. The idea is to ensure they receive all the tools they need to start working and that those tools are properly removed when they leave guaranteeing security and cost efficiency for the company.

The purpose of opening this new vertical is to expand Factorials capabilities as a platform and move one step closer to our broader vision: helping companies be more efficient and make better decisions..

Requirements

You are a good fit if...

• You have 7 years of experience building digital products and at least 2 years leading teams.
• You have solid end-to-end design experience across research ideation interface design prototyping implementation and validation. You combine strong attention to detail with a hands-on approach consistently shaping user-centered and innovative products.
• You work confidently with qualitative inputs including direct customer conversations as well as business data to uncover insights identify opportunities and risks and articulate clear decisions.
• You know how to define long-term product vision think holistically and translate that vision into scalable systems for your teams and final business impact.
• Youve built and developed talented teams from recruiting top talent to nurturing long-lasting relationships setting expectations giving feedback planning growth and making critical people decisions when needed.
• You have strong cross-functional experience collaborating with Engineering Product Management Sales and Customer Experience to ensure your solutions are feasible and aligned with business goals.
• You know how to drive consistency across experiences through documentation design systems branding and design best practices.
• You stay up to date with the latest design trends and technologies to continually improve your teams process and output.
• You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in spoken and written English.

Process & Next Steps

1. People Interview (30 min): A first conversation to get to know each other and align expectations. Feel free to ask anything you want about Factorial.
2. VP Interview (12 h): Once we align on the basics well dive deeper into your previous experience and walk through some of your projects. Well open a few Figmas together to understand how you lead decisions from prioritization and problem definition all the way to the final solution. Youll also get a clearer view of how we work at Factorial our expectations for this role and any team-level processes or organizational topics you want to explore.
3. Challenge Interview (1.5 h): In this session well give you a briefing to assess your ability to evaluate talent and guide designers. Youll receive the briefing a few days in advance so you can prepare as needed.
4. Meeting the Team: Before making a final decision youll meet other Product Leaders and some of the designers you may work with. This step helps you gain different perspectives and understand the environment youd be joining.
5. Offer Letter: If everything goes well well make a formal offer based on all the steps above.

Compensation

The salary range for this position starts at 82.000. We wont take into consideration how may years of experience you have but your knowledge and skills.
