Job Summary

General Purpose of the Job: Responsible for participating in the implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure systems with an emphasis on secure connectivity and physical security integration. This role ensures operational excellence across networking cloud services and controlled access technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of SolarWinds or other monitoring software and response to alerts
  • Receive new networking equipment configure from pre-defined templates and ship to remote sites.
  • Responsible for diagnostics and resolution of network problems to minimize downtime of business applications and services
  • Receive escalated calls from users and technicians to resolve minor major and escalate issues to senior engineers and vendors for network software and hardware problems
  • Ensure the network and communications infrastructure is maintained within the agreed policy and network device configurations are backed up routinely to minimize downtime risk for the business
  • Utilize company standard software and hardware tools to identify diagnose and resolve problems affecting network performance
  • Perform routine testing and analysis of all elements associated with network facilities
  • Obtains appropriate quotes and approvals for all network-related purchases and agreements
  • Maintains knowledge of current network technology and actively seeks industry-recognized network certifications to validate knowledge and experience
  • Recommend proactive changes to current and future network configurations to decrease the risk of outages and increase confidentiality integrity and availability within the network
  • Update documentation to record new equipment installed new sites and changes to network and security configurations
  • Provide tactical input on overall network security planning and related projects
  • Provides technical support assistance to the other IT infrastructure team members
  • Provide network support for all relevant company locations including remote interconnected sites
  • Respond to network outage events with extreme urgency and professionalism
  • Take part in an on-call rotation and serve as escalated support for network issues 24x7
  • Provide timely and considerate customer service to all personnel within the organization when resolving technical issues
  • Configure install and maintain various network devices and services (e.g. routers switches VPN load balancers firewalls Cisco Call Manager)
  • Handle confidential information and materials appropriately.
  • Install and maintain all network infrastructure utilizing government and industry security best practices.
  • Provide support for mobile devices wireless networks and remote users
  • The department Manager may assign other duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network & Infrastructure Management:
    • Deploy and maintain enterprise network systems including SD-WAN firewalls wireless and access switches.
    • Ensure high availability and performance across datacenter and cloud environments (Azure-first architecture).
  • Physical Security & Access Control:
    • Implement and manage controlled access systems including badge-based entry and role-based permissions.
    • Oversee CCTV deployment and monitoring solutions ensuring compliance with security standards and integration with IT systems.
    • Maintain audit trails for access events and video surveillance for compliance and incident response.
  • Compliance & Governance:
    • Develop and enforce security policies for both logical and physical access.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards for data and facility security.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Partner with facilities and security teams to align physical security measures with IT infrastructure strategy.
    • Provide technical guidance for secure installation of networking and surveillance equipment.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • College level education (AA/AS/BA/BS) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1-year progressive experience installing configuring and supporting all of the following: Cisco switches and routers Cisco VoIP remote user networking VPN TCP/IP troubleshooting Cisco ASA firewalls VLAN MPLS advanced routing QoS wireless LAN
  • Cisco and other industry certifications preferred

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with badge access systems (e.g. HID Lenel or similar).
  • Knowledge of CCTV platforms and video management systems.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and cloud-first architecture.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow for asset tracking and change management.
