Job Title: IT Security Analyst
Location: Richmond VA (1221 East Broad Street Richmond VA 23219)
Type: 6-Month Contract with possible extensions
Schedule: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite Weekly)
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and provide guidance on security best practices across systems tools and workflow.
Ensure agency IT security policies and controls are effective and functioning as intended.
Plan coordinate and execute IT security projects and initiatives.
Respond to and lead investigations of cybersecurity incidents.
Develop update and publish security policies standards procedures and guidelines.
Conduct agency-wide data classification assessments and security audits; manage corrective actions.
Partner with IT leadership Internal Audit and VITA to manage track and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Maintain and enhance agency user security awareness programs.
Conduct cybersecurity research to remain current with evolving threats technologies and compliance requirements.
Prepare security reports documentation communications alerts and web content as required.
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and provide security leadership within the agency.
Proven experience managing complex cybersecurity environments.
Strong understanding of security frameworks state government compliance policy development and risk management.
Experience in vulnerability management incident response audits and cybersecurity governance.
Strong communication documentation and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Advanced education and extensive industry experience preferred.
