Job Summary

Job Title: Lead Auditor - AS9100 (Aerospace Experience Auditor - AEA)
Department: MSC Business Unit
Reports To: Branch Manager

Job Purpose

To conduct AS9100 audits as a Lead Auditor ensuring compliance with aerospace industry quality standards regulatory requirements and customer-specific protocols. The role includes full responsibility for audit planning execution reporting and certification recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan audits based on pre-planning information provided by the customer.

  2. Conduct audits in accordance with the AS9100 Standard as Lead Auditor.

  3. Prepare audit reports as per Certification Body (CB) protocols including recommendations for certification.

  4. Manage and complete all post-audit activities within defined timelines.

  5. Recommend organizations for certification based on audit outcomes.

  6. Complete all required steps in the iCert system and issue certificates as applicable.

Competencies & Technical Expertise

  • Understanding of aerospace industry quality systems and CAA regulatory requirements

  • Knowledge of military aerospace requirements and regulations

  • First Article Inspection (AS9102)

  • Airworthiness and safety requirements

  • Design development verification and validation processes

  • Aerospace material traceability requirements

  • Subcontractor approval and control requirements

  • Variation Management of Key Characteristics (AS9103)

  • Flow-down of quality requirements

  • FOD (Foreign Object Damage) prevention program requirements

  • Handling of customer-supplied products

  • Calibration controls and positive recall systems

  • Acceptance authority media requirements

  • Management of non-conforming material and related systems

Mandatory Aerospace Experience (AEA Requirements)

Candidates must have:

  • Minimum 4 years full-time aerospace industry experience within the last 10 years

  • Experience directly in Engineering Design Manufacturing Quality or Process Control

  • Experience with major airframe manufacturers prime suppliers auxiliary equipment suppliers or recognized civil/military/space organizations such as:

    • National Aviation Authorities (NAA)

    • ESA/NASA

    • Ministry of Defense (MoD)

  • Direct involvement or working knowledge of the key aerospace quality elements listed under competencies

Education

  • BE/ in Mechanical Electrical & Electronics or Aeronautical Engineering
    OR

  • Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from Army/Navy/Air Force (Aviation Core)

Certifications (Mandatory)

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification

  • IAQG AS9100D Exam Pass

Strategic / Operational Competencies

  • Direct aerospace industry experience

  • Experience conducting First- or Second-Party aerospace audits

  • Strong communication documentation and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to independently manage end-to-end audit responsibilities

Experience

  • Hands-on AS9100 audit experience as Lead Auditor

  • Exposure to certification body audit protocols (preferred)
