Job Summary

Our client is a leading Australian infrastructure delivery organisation known for delivering complex rail civil and transport projects. Their teams work across metropolitan and regional locations bringing together engineering expertise innovation and a strong commitment to safety and community outcomes.

With multiple major works underway they are seeking an experienced safety leader to support one of Victorias most significant rail upgrade programs.


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Health Safety & Rail Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of project safety across several rail construction sites. This role plays a major part in maintaining safe operations meeting regulatory requirements and driving a strong safety culture across a fast-paced multi-site program.

The position is primarily based in the Melbourne office with regular travel required to project sites between Broadford and Benalla. You will lead safety teams support operational decision-making and ensure project works are delivered safely and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

Lead health safety and rail safety functions across multiple sites
Develop implement and maintain WHS and rail safety systems
Provide expert guidance on safety standards and compliance
Conduct site inspections risk assessments and incident investigations
Coach and support project teams on HSE best practice
Monitor safety performance and drive continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with the Rail Safety National Law and relevant legislation
Engage with internal teams contractors regulators and stakeholders



Requirements

Proven experience in a senior WHS or Rail Safety role (rail or construction preferred)
Strong knowledge of WHS and rail safety standards and legislation
Experience leading safety teams across multi-site operations
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Qualifications in Work Health & Safety and/or Rail Safety
Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
Proactive mindset with the ability to influence and improve safety culture
