About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Senior Advisor Secondary Approvals to support a major transport infrastructure program in this role you will manage approval workflows for complex contract packages ensuring all documentation meets regulatory safety and client requirements before progressing through the final governance process.
Working closely with project managers engineering teams commercial leads and senior stakeholders you will ensure efficient approvals accurate compliance checks and strong alignment between project activities and regulatory obligations. This position is suited to someone who enjoys working in a high-profile fast-paced project environment and is experienced in Victorian planning and environmental approval frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage secondary approval workflows for major contract and procurement packages
Verify accuracy compliance and completeness before approvals progress
Provide guidance to project teams on approval requirements and governance expectations
Liaise with delivery teams and senior leadership to resolve bottlenecks or approval delays
Ensure adherence to planning environmental WHS and other regulatory frameworks
Maintain clear audit trails and documentation for internal and external review
Identify opportunities to streamline the approvals process across multidisciplinary teams
Support digital transformation initiatives for automated approval systems
Prepare regular compliance progress and risk reports for management
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering Science Sustainability Urban Planning or related discipline
Experience
Experience navigating planning approvals under the Victorian Planning & Environment Act 1987
Background in major project delivery environments
Ability to interpret Incorporated Document requirements
Strong report writing and documentation skills
Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to achieve required outcomes
