Job Summary
- Part time (0.8 FTE) 6-month contract with the potential to extend
- Join our headspace team in Dandenong and Hastings on the lands of the Bunurong and Boon Wurrung Peoples
- Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience 12% Super Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18550
About the program/team
headspace Dandenong and Hastings provide vital mental health wellbeing and support services for young people and their families. Our multidisciplinary team is passionate about creating a safe inclusive and empowering environment for all.
Your role your impact
As a Senior Access Clinician you will:
- Facilitate service access pathways for young people and families ensuring timely and effective support
- Conduct in-person and telehealth assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions including single session therapy and group support
- Provide short-term interventions for young people experiencing barriers to accessing care
- Formulate recovery and treatment plans and coordinate referrals to headspace or other youth services
- Lead clinical case reviews and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
- Engage stakeholders to enhance referral pathways and integrated care
- Champion ethical practice and uphold the highest standards of professional accountability
- Contribute to ongoing service development and continuous improvement
Who were looking for
To thrive in this role you will have:
- Minimum tertiary qualification in nursing psychology occupational therapy social work counselling or a related field with eligibility for membership with the relevant professional association
- Experience in mental health assessments psychoeducation and short-term interventions with young people
- Experience working with young people and families from diverse backgrounds including LGBTIQA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander CALD refugees neurodivergent people and people with disabilities
- Knowledge of relevant legislation policies and issues affecting youth mental health
- Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
What will make you stand out
- Experience with single session therapy and dual diagnosis
- Experience engaging clients via online counselling platforms
- Understanding of the not-for-profit and health sectors
- Experience in intake and risk assessments with young people
