Lead and manage multiple state tax audits including working professionally with auditors responding to IDRs performing technical research and delivering strategic creative solutions for favorable outcomes.
- Research and analyze complex tax issues preparing position papers tax impact models audit protest letters and IDR responses.
- Determine appropriate tax reserve levels in compliance with ASC 740.
- Participate in tax planning initiatives contributing to projects such as R&D credits M&A transactions state tax strategies and credits & incentive negotiations.
- Collaborate with external advisors on audits strategic projects and tax planning.
- Support cross-functional teams by communicating audit developments promptly and recommending adjustments to filing positions or reserves.
- Monitor legislative changes to U.S. federal and state/local tax laws assess impacts and identify opportunities or risks.
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation for all tax controversy matters.

Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field with 5 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 2 years of experience.
- 6 years of progressive tax experience including controversy work in an accounting/law firm or large publicly traded company.
- CPA license or JD preferred MS in Taxation or LLM is a plus.
- Strong state tax technical skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex issues.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with excellent research analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.
