Permanent Full Time

Hybrid Working - Minimum 2 days except duty week when you will be required to attend office on all working days of the week.

Lambeth Children Social Care Corporate Parenting which includes 16 Independence Service and Children Looked After Service invites applications for the role of an Advanced Practitioner within its 16 Independence Service. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced social workers as the role entails supporting the Team Manager to develop and promote high standards of social work practice and lead on specific projects as directed by the Assistant Director Corporate Parenting.

About Role:

As an advanced practitioner within the Service you will deliver and role model meaningful creative innovative social work practice through a collaborative and systemic approach to all work with children and families. This is a case holding role however you will carry a reduced caseload of up to 10 cases.

You will support Team Managers with day-to-day Management tasks and performance under the direction and supervision of the Team Manager including supervising non-social work/unqualified staff.

Your key responsibilities will also include provision of support advice mentoring and modelling high standards of professional social work practice to newly qualified and less experienced staff in complex/high risk cases; provide professional reflective supervision and support to staff as relevant to the needs of the team e.g. staff induction newly qualified social workers students; jointly work with newly qualified/less experienced social workers and to provide management instructions and to be accountable for the work of these colleagues on such cases.

  • Support AYSEs up to and after their qualifying year if applicable
  • Assisting Team Managers with supporting staff on capability and action plans created by the Team Manager
  • Case reflective discussion and consultations

About You:

Due to the nature of the work with vulnerable children families and carers some work beyond normal office hours is required from time to time. It is expected that you will work flexibly in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of this job and participate as required in multi-disciplinary cross-department and cross-organisational groups and task teams.
