Medical Coder - Full Time (Remote)
Granger Medical Clinic is seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join our team. This is a remote position offering the flexibility to work from home while supporting our mission of delivering exceptional patient care.
Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Utah South Carolina Arizona Texas Kentucky Georgia Arkansas Idaho or Wyoming.
General Surgery experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately audit and code daily E/M visits.
- Review operative reports transcriptions and other documentation to extract necessary information.
- Assign correct CPT codes associated modifiers and ICD-10 codes to billing documents.
- Provide coding and billing education and feedback to providers.
- Research correct resubmit and appeal denied claims.
- Stay current on payer policies and procedures both standard and unique.
- Maintain a minimum 90% coding accuracy rate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to self-educate and adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong customer service communication multitasking and organizational skills.
- Certification required: AAPC or AHIMA (CPC CCS-P).
- Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience.
- General Surgery coding experience required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Sedentary work requiring lifting up to 10lbs
- Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment
- Inside climate-controlled working conditions
