Job Summary

Medical Coder - Full Time (Remote)

Granger Medical Clinic is seeking an experienced Medical Coder to join our team. This is a remote position offering the flexibility to work from home while supporting our mission of delivering exceptional patient care.

Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Utah South Carolina Arizona Texas Kentucky Georgia Arkansas Idaho or Wyoming.

General Surgery experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately audit and code daily E/M visits.
Review operative reports transcriptions and other documentation to extract necessary information.
Assign correct CPT codes associated modifiers and ICD-10 codes to billing documents.
Provide coding and billing education and feedback to providers.
Research correct resubmit and appeal denied claims.
Stay current on payer policies and procedures both standard and unique.
Maintain a minimum 90% coding accuracy rate.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to self-educate and adapt to changing requirements.
Strong customer service communication multitasking and organizational skills.
Certification required: AAPC or AHIMA (CPC CCS-P).
Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience.
General Surgery coding experience required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Sedentary work requiring lifting up to 10lbs
Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment
Inside climate-controlled working conditions
