Our Water Analytics Branch team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Technical Writer in a temporary capacity to 30 June 2026.

The Water Group leads the NSW Government in providing confidence to communities and stakeholders with the transparent stewardship of water resources provision of services and reforms that support sustainable and healthy environments economies and societies across NSW.

The Water Analytics Branch will produce multiple products requiring technical writer input for the remainder of the financial year including surface water and groundwater model reports reports for the Northern Basin Connectivity and Sustainable Water Sharing projects reports technical memos and summaries for the Minimum Inflows project comms and engagement outputs for consultation on models internal best practice guidelines for data visualisation Spatial Viewer guidance material and further comms outputs on the work Water Analytics Branch delivers.

About You

This role delivers high quality information products and reporting for stakeholders by identifying and analysing product requirements and collaborating with water modelling geospatial and analytics staff and stakeholders to effectively develop these products.

The role maximises the value of information from analysis by water modelling geospatial and analytics teams and supports the continuous improvement of information products for a range of internal and external audiences. This work supports the transparency and understanding of water modelling and analytics to support water management decision making.
