The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation providing world class aeromedical search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has 50 years of proud history and operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth Belmont Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and Deep Level Maintenance (DLM) facility based in Broadmeadow (Newcastle) NSW. About the positions

We are currently seeking multiple experienced Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join our Broadmeadow based team. Reporting to the Senior Base Engineer and operating within a CASR approved Part 145 organisation these roles will be required to carry out maintenance repair overhaul modification assembly and/or testing on the aircraft fleet in a safe and efficient manner and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Perform maintenance activities including major aircraft inspections repairs and overhauls in accordance with approved company manufacturer and airworthiness authority manuals.
  • Conduct hybrid trouble shooting address recurrent technical problems and ensure all maintenance and defect rectification is carried out to the relevant design and quality standards.
  • Complete documentation in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with company requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders through a commitment to the Services values of compassion unity accountability and integrity whilst demonstrating and promoting a positive and proactive attitude toward safety quality and environmental standards at all times.

About you

To be considered for these roles you will have:

  • Aircraft Engineer Trade Qualifications CASA Part 66 Licence (B1 B2 or B1/B2) together with Leonardo AW139 Type Rating and solid experience within the aviation industry
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to creating a respectful safe and inclusive culture
  • Proven attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (including Air Maestro SharePoint PowerPoint Word and Excel skills)
  • Current Australian drivers licence
  • Whilst not essential CAT C licence and previous experience working within an EMS environment will be highly regarded

This position is identified Category B in accordance with NSW Healths framework for the assessment screening and vaccination of workers to minimise the risk of transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases.
