Lumentum is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Optical Verification Technician (Co-op Student) to join the R&D Design Verification Testing (DVT) team in the Networking based in Ottawa Ontario.

What Youll Be Doing

Do you enjoy the trial of problem solving communicate well with others and act as a team player
If so consider joining our team of talented software designers and optical engineers.

You will have a positive impact on our success by:

• Applying your expertise in optics to improve our test & measurement techniques.
• Applying test measurement techniques to characterize critical optical parameters.
• Implementing automated test code and scripts that improve our test coverage and the quality of our results.
• Applying best practices and contributing to the ongoing improvement of team processes and test execution; and
• Analyzing and characterizing optical hardware and software failures and reporting them to relevant designers using our internal process and tools

What Were Looking For

• Desire to succeed and to do things right the first time.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in active optical components.
• Team guidance skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Good understanding of test plans test execution and bug reporting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of hardware concepts.
• Experience in software development instrumentation and automation is an asset.
• College student in Photonics Computer/Electrical Engineering Engineering Physics or equivalent.
