The Director Insights & Analytics is responsible and leads the end to end I&A agenda within DACH. This role is responsible to develop and leverage a comprehensive consumer shopper and market understanding and turn these insights into business implications and recommendations across all relevant countries in the cluster with shared accountability for growth and delivery of business results.
The Director Insights & Analytics DACHrole reports to VP Insights & Analytics MEU and is part of the MEU I&A Leadership Team.
How you will contribute
Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities
The I&A Director DACH partners with the Marketing Lead DACH and the Management Table to identify key learning needs in the areas of: Business understanding Consumer and Shopper understanding Category and Brand development and growth opportunities portfolio strategy creative development innovation. Directly and through the team the I&A Director DACH will be responsible for:
Business performance and optimisation (through tracking & learning):
Analysis of Retail Panel data Consumer Panel data Advertising Tracking Competitive Product Testing etc.
Synthesis of situational analysis competitor information across markets to shape the cluster agenda for AC & SP
Work with agencies to ensure that reports and presentations are concise easy to read as well as action orientated
Growth Opportunities identification:
Understanding the consumer & shopper landscape through analysis of the consumer and shopper dynamics (i.e. consumer panel analysis U&A analysis) the structure of the market (i.e. occasions & need states product domains retail dynamics etc.) and macroeconomic culture and people trends
Leveraging globally implemented U&As and market structure tools as a lens to look through for local consumers shoppers and markets
Communicate clear and compelling recommendations for concrete growth activities by combining shopper consumer and category knowledge as well as insights from multiple sources with consumer and business knowledge and synthesize to provide clear understanding of present and future growth drivers
Generating behaviour changing insight & identifying effective levers of engagement:
Build insights which guide business decision making regarding the following areas:
Portfolio and architecture: Own and competitor brand portfolio mapping brand architecture and stretch brand/product/pack/price architecture understanding consumer cohorts
Innovation: Role of Innovation in brand/category growth innovation platform development research product and pack design guidance
Organic Brand growth: Core growth opportunities brand maintenance (comms. product/ packaging assortment pricing) comms. development product/brand benchmarking. Might be involved in developing consumer and shopper map with MPP tool
Manage research plans and projects for the cluster across consumer and shopper
Resource Management & Learning Plan:
Help to identify consumer shopper and marketing opportunities and/or issues after discussion with Category/ Country Marketing and / or regional brand platform team and/or manager and recommend appropriate ways to address them. Create the4-2-1 learning plan for the cluster and align with key stakeholders in DACH as well as with the VP I&A MEU
Maximise value and efficiency of research projects and comply with Mondelēz procurement and accounting policies and procedures
Proactively build and maintain effective supplier relationships. Demonstrate negotiation skills and ensure quality deliverables and high ROI
Responsible for ensuring appropriate knowledge management (historical) across the team leveraging MDLZ tools such as iQuest and DeepSights
This role is an active member of the I&A MEU Leadership Team contributing to the development and application of MEU Supplier Management best practices and functional strategies and plans for Europe
Talent Management
This role is responsible to maintain / developing talent through appropriate coaching and guidance to conduct appraisals with direct reports and to ensure personal development plans are in place for all team members
What you will bring
A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career with experience and knowledge in:
12-15 years of marketing research experience in increasing responsibility positions. FMCG experience a plus
Multi country experience demonstrated ability to work across cultures
Experience in working at a strategic level leveraging consumer knowledge to influence short and long term business decisions
Experienced across all research techniques and applications
Experienced and effective in managing people across different cultures working in remote teams
Comfortable with data analysis for business understanding and tracking
