VAT Analyst
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Budapest Hungary as a VAT Analyst. Use your VAT compliance and accounting skills to support our mission.
What you will do:
- Preparation and review of VAT Returns Intrastat Reporting and EC Sales Lists within the EMEA region.
- Support and manage complex VAT returns and queries ensuring compliance with EMEA VAT requirements.
- Implement and maintain internal control checks and reconciliations throughout the reporting and filing process to mitigate risk.
- Support day-to-day VAT activities across the EMEA region applying VAT knowledge to address complex issues with management.
- Take a leading role during external and internal audits within the Centre of Excellence and provide support for other external and internal audits within the wider organization.
- Contribute to the success of the company by delivering timely and accurate work products that meet or exceed expectations.
- Collaborate and support other team members to achieve collective goals.
Who we are looking for:
- Proven experience in VAT compliance.
- Ability to interpret VAT rules across various European countries.
- Part-qualified or fully-qualified accountant desirable but not essential.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and competence in using in-house applications.
- Desirable experience with reconciliation accounting software.
- Flexible and adaptable with a desire to grow within a fast-paced environment.
