Reporting to the Senior Manager Delivery Integration the Senior Planner Rail Access Performance is responsible for providing expertise in and coordinating the development and implementation of data management strategies and data collection systems for Rail Access Planning for On-time Performance. The Senior Planner will be accountable for identifying analyzing and interpreting data trends/issues and making recommendations for business operations and system improvement.
What will I be doing
Additionally the Senior Planner Rail Access Performance will provide CPG 24/7 Desk Support during Major Track Closures (MTCs):
- Provides support to field Construction Specialists by validating any scope or methodology variations to ensure the changes are approved and can be accommodated safely advising the NOC accordingly to help facilitate.
- Liaises with field Construction Specialists the NOC Rail Corridor Access and Control (RCAC) and project delivery teams to ensure efficient delivery of work during planned work blocks.
- Attends to any concerns raised during regular review calls with the field Construction Specialists and Contractors during disruptive possessions to assist in establishing progress against hourly schedules and assessing the risk of adverse impact on normal operations.
- Provides information to the NOC Controllers project delivery teams and other stakeholders regarding the progress of construction activities during disruptive and non-disruptive work blocks.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion ofadegree ordiploma in Business Administration Engineering Construction Management or arelated fieldor a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and Advanced skills in Excel.
- Demonstrates progressive and relevantexperience supervising and monitoring rail operations services preferably in a public transit environment.
- Demonstrated experience in planning complex multidisciplinary construction workswithin operational corridors.
- Proven experience guiding and training rail access staff.
- Experience with rail access booking systems
- Proven analytical skills to investigate operating problems and recommend solutions.
- Knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements governing the delivery of passenger rail services (e.g. Transport Canada (TC) Federal Railway Administration (FRA) American Association of Railways (AAR) American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) Ontario provincial and municipal standards and best practices building codes contracts and environmental legislation) is an asset
