Job Summary

Position Summary

The Coordinator provides confidential administrative oversight and direction addressing
administrative problems and inquiries to ensure effective day to day operations of the
department. The Coordinator serves as the direct administrative contact and liaison with
other offices individuals and external institutions and agencies on a range of specified
issues.

The Coordinator supports the creation and execution of marketing strategies for Continuing
Education that includes a range of tactics such as advertising and web publication. This
position develops and executes marketing strategies for the Continuing Education
department to recruit students into CE Programs.

The Coordinator ensures continuity and consistency in the department by coordinating
activities across the department and the wider university. The Coordinator handles records
management for their area leads marketing and outreach initiatives and ensures overall
effective functioning of the support areas for the department.

Qualifications

  • Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience.
  • Training or experience in graphic design.
  • Training or experience in office procedures.
  • Knowledge with Banner and Active Content (web) Management System preferred.
  • Proficient in full Microsoft Office Professional suite (Word Excel Access Publisher
  • PowerPoint) and Adobe suite.
  • Experience in web and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision exercising good judgement and initiative.
  • Well-developed customer service skills: ability to deal sensitively effectively and
  • professionally with students staff and other professional groups as well as the public.
  • Conflict management and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time-management organization planning coordination prioritization and follow-up skills.
  • Experience with planning special events.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to successfully recognize analyze and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of UFV and BC post-secondary system an asset.
