Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. We are hiring for a Product Owner CDP to join the Digital Content & Insights (DCI) team within the Community Communications and Stakeholder Relations (CCSR) division to support the development of key CRM/CDP focused projects to enhance our connections with communities.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Digital the Product Owner - CDP will play a key role owning the product vision and roadmap for our divisions CDP and its connected digital engagement products. As part of the CCSR team the Product Owner - CDP is accountable for the management of the integrated program of activities required to advance and mature the CDP product (eg. Customer Insights Data) including its one or more of its digital platforms (eg. PowerPages). They will lead engagement with internal/external stakeholders including business users to translate customer needs into clear business outcomes ensuring business priorities are delivered and product value is maximized.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of political and organizational acuity to navigate a diverse stakeholder environment work across multiple business units and divisions vendors and align initiatives with evolving strategic priorities particularly in the digital engagement and product management space.

Sound judgment adaptability and the ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities will be essential.

What will I be doing

Functional/Technical

  • Product Development Roadmap
    • Partner closely with CCSR business units and stakeholders to develop refine and maintain the CDP product vision aligned to business goals customer insights data strategy and architecture.
    • Translate business needs into actionable requirementscapturing and prioritizing enhancements within Customer Insights Data and PowerPages that align with the CDP product strategy.
    • Develop refine and maintain a clear value-driven product roadmap.
    • Gather and prioritize business requirements for CDP capabilities - such as data ingestion identity resolution segmentation and activation.
    • Manage and triage CCSR business unit demands with Product delivery teams and vendors to support quality releases that meet business and project development goals;
    • Acts as a conduit between the business and delivery teams identifying issues between the CDP product roadmap and delivery plans/associated constraints in order to find long-term solutions and engages the required stakeholders to reconcile conflicting priorities.
  • Vendor/Customer Relationships
    • Supports managing the relationship with vendors which includes defining problem statements establishing and managing a robust product backlog and roadmap; reviewing vendor proposals to realize value for money and providing input to the Metrolinx Management Vendor process for vendor performance reviews;
    • Organizes demand from business units with Product delivery teams and vendors in order to support quality releases that meet business goals;
  • Product / Project Management
    • Confirms product designs at key milestones in collaboration with Product Delivery teams to stay apprised of progress through development resolve escalated problems and address business expectations in the event of development issues;
    • Plans and provides ongoing maintenance and management of assigned product portfolio. Responsible for integrating program activities for the CDP product roadmap; including collaboration with the business Product Delivery and strategic vendors;

Customer/Stakeholder

  • Communicates regularly with the business to understand product vision business needs and develop product roadmaps to ensure alignment of goals and plans; provides regular updates to stakeholders and provides opportunities for feedback on progress;
  • Liaises with product delivery and the vendors to identify technology driven initiatives to be prioritized within the product roadmaps e.g. software upgrade;

Operational Excellence

  • Fosters the advancement of Product Management capabilities as part of continuous improvement activities and maintaining Product Management practice in alignment with other Metrolinx groups;
  • Keeps current and advises the Senior Manager Metrolinx Digitalregarding the direction of emerging tools and products that would improve the technology maturity of the organization.

Financial Stewardship

  • Provides input to budgets and staffing plans that adhere to corporate standards and applicable legislation; meets service delivery objectives and manages project and department activities within budgetary limits;
  • Tracks initiatives reviews progress and endorses scope time or cost changes allocates funding to section projects and ensures expenditures are tracked to meet project plans; escalates severe problems to Senior Manager and informs business of any impact on business requirements;

Leadership

  • Contributes to a working environment that is aligned with the organizations desire to be an employer of choice ensuring that people resources possess the required skills are properly aligned and are provided with the resources to do the job;
  • Advises other staff and provides expertise on product management issues;
  • Advises the business stakeholders on how they can leverage technology more effectively to realize their business objectives;
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Business Engineering Information Systems Computer Science or related discipline - or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated years of relevant experience in Product Management IT or a related function.
  • Experience contributing to the success of midsize to large CRM/CDP (specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights Data PowerPlatform PowerPages Dataverse) initiatives with above average levels of complexity and business criticality
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud an asset
  • Agile certification (Agile Certified Professional Certified Scrum Product Owner)
  • Certified Product Manager an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 an asset
