About The Role:
- The role of the Clinical Nurse Educator in the Intensive Care Unit is to promote plan implement coordinate and review educational programs for all staff working within the Department.
- Education programs include in-service education for New Graduates and Undergraduate Nursing students as well as comprehensive ongoing education for all staff to increase and maintain skills.
- The role will oversee and comply with supernumerary time for the New Graduate Nurse and newly employed registered nurses to the intensive care unit.
- The role also coordinates staff attendance at mandatory education individually or at organisation wide programs and assists in policy and procedure review and development.
- This role will assist in the promotion organisation and performance of hospital wide assessments and competencies.
- The Clinical Nurse Educator will also assist in a clinical role as required by the unit.
About You:
- Current Registration with the AHPRA.
- Bachelor of Nursing.
- Advance life support qualification and/or assessor.
- Post-graduate certificate in Critical Care.
- Certificate IV in training and assessment or working towards.
- Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations Workplace health and Safety Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care.
- Sound knowledge of the Australian National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS) and the application in current practice.

About The Mater:
In this role you will be based at the Mater hospital North Sydney.
- One of Sydneys premier private hospitals.
- Close by to train stations at North Sydney St Leonards and Crows Nest and buses on Pacific Highway.
- The only Australian hospital that is a member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres.
- Core specialties include Obstetrics Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements bone and sports injuries cardiology cancer care and surgery lung and vascular medicine ear nose and throat surgery urology endocrine surgery and neurosurgery.
