ABOUT THE FIRM
A midsize California law firm with multiple offices across the state is seeking an associate attorney to join its Trial Litigation Practice Group. For over three decades the firm has been recognized as a trusted provider of legal services for high-profile high-stakes matters involving both public sector and private sector clients.
The litigation team handles complex high-impact matters in state and federal courts frequently representing governmental agencies. The firm is regularly engaged by transportation authorities counties cities and other public entities on major public infrastructure projects including real estate issues and property acquisition matters such as eminent domain.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The firm is seeking a bright committed and ambitious attorney with three to seven years of experience and a demonstrated focus or interest in real estate and eminent domain litigation. This position may be based in the firms San Diego Los Angeles or Oakland office.
Key Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate:
Excellent academic record
Strong analytical reasoning and creative problem-solving abilities
Superior research and writing skills
A high level of initiative and professional work ethic
Proven ability to work collaboratively in team settings
Experience in eminent domain real estate or public-entity land acquisition litigation (required)
Desired Litigation Experience
Candidates should have substantive experience in:
Law and motion practice including dispositive motions
Case development and trial preparation
Evidence building
Witness interviews
Taking and defending depositions
This role offers a motivated attorney the opportunity to gain meaningful litigation and trial experience on a broad range of real estate eminent domain and public-entity land acquisition matters throughout California.

Actual compensation will depend on experience qualifications skills and office location.
