About the Branch The International Education Services (IES) Branch operates in a fast-paced high-quality environment supporting Albertas K-12 international education strategy. The team leads strategic planning policy development and implementation related to international education while also representing Alberta provincially nationally and internationally.
IES is seeking an Administrative Support professional to assist the Chinese Special Language Advisor and help coordinate a suite of Student Exchange Programs.
Key Responsibilities -
Proofread and format Word documents and memos.

Update budgets tracking sheets and program information using Excel.

Support the Chinese Special Language Advisor with event planning meeting coordination and venue bookings.

Manage incoming phone calls and emails with professionalism.

Assist with the preparation production and distribution of branch documents.

Complete administrative tasks including copying scanning faxing filing and records management (digital and physical).
-
Process and review expenses and reimbursements.
-
Take accurate meeting minutes and distribute summaries.

Provide support to additional Special Language Advisors and branch projects as needed.
Required Qualifications - Strong ability to read write and speak Chinese
- Strong ability to read write and speak English
- Minimum 1 year of administrative or clerical experience
- Minimum 1 year of using Chinese in a professional office environment
- Experience with routine administrative tasks (emails scheduling documentation)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook etc.)
