We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to play a critical role in supporting operational and strategic decision-making. About the Role
NEPEAN Finance provides technical expertise to the NEPEAN businesses across our global portfolio. Reporting to the Finance Manager you will take ownership of commercial analysis management reporting and cost optimisation initiatives acting as a trusted business partner to the senior leadership and operations team across multiple businesses in the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts and analysis
- Manage month-end close activities including GL reconciliations intercompany settlements tax/GST compliance WIP and margin analysis across multiple entities
- Partner with project managers to review budgets cost-to-complete forecasts track variations and drive project profitability
- Monitor labour recovery material usage and subcontractor costs to improve cost control and operational efficiency
- Lead budgeting forecasting and variance analysis cycles for projects and operations
- Coordinate and monitor cash flow forecasts ensuring liquidity and optimising working capital
- Conduct commercial evaluations of capital investments pricing decisions and new business opportunities
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls reporting efficiency and data integrity
- Support statutory reporting audit requirements and compliance obligations
About You
You are a skilled Management Accountant with a track record of providing accurate timely reporting and actionable analysis that drives operational and financial performance. You enjoy partnering with production teams helping them understand results and make informed decisions. You thrive in a fast-paced environment enjoy solving complex problems and are confident engaging with operational teams and senior stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- Successfully completed tertiary qualifications in Accounting Finance or related discipline and CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent)
- 5 years experience in management accounting within a manufacturing engineering or FMCG environment
- Strong background in budgeting forecasting and variance analysis
- Proven expertise in WIP accounting revenue recognition project margin reporting and cost-to-complete forecasting
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience (knowledge of D365 essential)
- Proven ability to identify trends analyse data and recommend improvements
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance teams
- High attention to detail combined with a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to work under pressure manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-moving project environment
