About the Role

Were looking for a motivated and compassionate Assistant Housing Officer to support the delivery of high-quality tenancy and property management services within the organisations Housing Programs team.

Working closely with Housing Officers and reporting to the Housing Coordinator youll provide frontline customer service administrative support and practical assistance to help tenants sustain their housing and feel connected to their community.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with community services or housing experience who enjoys working with people solving problems and contributing to positive social outcomes.

What Youll Do:
  • Conduct client interviews eligibility assessments and connect clients with support services.
  • Respond to tenant enquiries and provide information on local housing and homelessness services.
  • Assist with property inspections condition reports and identifying maintenance needs.
  • Support Housing Officers with tenancy and property management tasks providing backup as required.
  • Assist with tenant participation initiatives newsletters and events.
  • Manage enquiries regarding maintenance rent payments tenancy breaches and complaints.
  • Maintain accurate tenant and property records
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and team culture.

You will be someone who has:

  • Certificate IV in Social Housing or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years experience in housing or community services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed problem-solving decision-making and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and deliver high-quality client-focused services.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint).

Desirable

  • Knowledge of tenancy legislation and the social housing sector.
  • Current drivers licence.

You will have or be willing to get a National Police Check WWCC and Covid-19 Vaccination
