About the RoleWere seeking a Housing Officer to join the Housing Programs team. This role supports tenants helps manage properties and contributes to positive housing outcomes for people in need.
Reporting to the Housing Coordinator youll help manage a small portfolio and ensure services are delivered with care professionalism and in line with organisational values.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with tenancy and property management including allocations rent eligibility checks and resolving tenancy issues.
- Help minimise rental loss and maintain property standards through inspections and maintenance coordination.
- Keep accurate tenancy and property records according to policies and legislation.
- Provide friendly responsive customer service and build positive tenant relationships.
- Support tenant participation initiatives and feedback processes.
- Monitor tenancy data rent bonds and repayments to identify emerging needs.
- Ensure all work complies with policies procedures and legislation.
- Work collaboratively with the team and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Uphold the mission and values of Churches of Christ in all interactions.
About You- Certificate IV in Social Housing (or similar qualification) or relevant experience in housing or community services.
- Around three years experience in tenancy management or a related service role.
- Understanding of housing legislation and compliance requirements.
- Confident computer skills (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with tenants and stakeholders.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to service quality safety and continuous improvement.
- Alignment with the mission vision and values of Churches of Christ.
Desirable: Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.
Mandatory Checks- National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
- Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (if supporting NDIS participants)
