Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and optimize new and existing tooling dies jigs and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related production issues and defects.
- Manage the maintenance repair and modification of production tooling to ensure operational readiness and extend lifespan.
- Evaluate and select appropriate tooling materials coatings and manufacturing processes to meet product specifications and cost targets.
- Collaborate with manufacturing design and quality teams to improve tooling performance efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for tooling specifications designs maintenance schedules and spare parts.
- Provide technical support and training to production personnel on tooling setup operation and troubleshooting.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in tooling design manufacturing or maintenance within a production environment.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA) for tooling design and analysis.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g. injection molding stamping machining) and materials science.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot optimize and implement corrective actions for tooling issues.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software for tool validation.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Proficiency in additive manufacturing (3D printing) for prototyping or tooling inserts.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining EDM or tool room operations.
