Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and verification of precision measurement equipment (PME).
- Conduct accurate dimensional inspections and measurements of manufactured components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose measurement discrepancies or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of calibration records measurement data and equipment history.
- Ensure all metrology processes adhere to relevant industry standards and quality systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production and engineering teams on measurement techniques.
- Execute preventative maintenance and minor repairs on met metrology instruments.
Recommended Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Metrology Quality Assurance or a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints technical drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated experience operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced inspection equipment.
- Expertise in using a wide range of precision measurement hand tools (e.g. calipers micrometers height gauges bore gauges).
- Knowledge of calibration principles measurement uncertainty and relevant quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001 AS9100).
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with specific metrology programming software (e.g. PC-DMIS Calypso).
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD) for fixture design or model interpretation.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software and methodologies.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles for process optimization.
