Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and verification of measurement tools and equipment.
- Conduct precise dimensional inspections of manufactured components using various metrology instruments (e.g. CMM optical comparator calipers micrometers).
- Develop program and execute Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) routines for part inspection.
- Document and maintain accurate records of all calibration inspection and measurement data.
- Analyze measurement data generate inspection reports and identify non-conforming products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement equipment and inspection processes.
- Ensure all metrology activities comply with quality standards specifications and regulatory requirements.
Recommended Qualifications
- 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing metrology lab or quality control environment.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering blueprints schematics and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Demonstrated experience operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measurement tools.
- Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty calibration principles and quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on metrology equipment.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with CMM programming (e.g. PC-DMIS Calypso) or scripting for automated measurement routines.
- Proficiency with advanced non-contact metrology systems such as laser trackers structured light scanners or CT scanning.
- Demonstrated ability to apply statistical process control (SPC) and other statistical methods for data analysis.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Definition (MBD) and its application in inspection planning.
- Prior experience supporting ISO 17025 accredited calibration labs or quality system audits.
