Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise dimensional measurements of manufactured parts and assemblies using various metrology equipment.
• Calibrate maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of measurement tools and systems (e.g. CMMs calipers micrometers vision systems).
• Interpret engineering drawings blueprints and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate part inspection and conformance.
• Document measurement results calibration data and inspection reports accurately and thoroughly.
• Identify and resolve measurement discrepancies or equipment malfunctions escalating complex issues as needed.
• Develop and optimize measurement programs and procedures for CMMs and other automated inspection systems.
• Support root cause analysis efforts related to dimensional non-conformances and process improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating and interpreting readings from precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers micrometers CMMs optical comparators).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints schematics and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
• Strong understanding of metrology principles calibration techniques and measurement uncertainty.
• Experience with metrology software and data analysis for quality control and process improvement.
• Associate's degree in Metrology Manufacturing Technology or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g. PC-DMIS Calypso MCOSMOS).
• ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification.
• Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g. Minitab JMP) for process control.
• Demonstrated experience with automated metrology systems or robotic inspection integration.
