Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine calibration and verification of precision measurement equipment and gages.
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced metrology systems.
- Conduct dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using a variety of precision measuring tools.
- Document inspection results calibration data and maintain accurate records in compliance with quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with measurement equipment escalating complex problems as needed.
- Support manufacturing and engineering teams by providing accurate measurement data and analysis.
- Assist in the development and improvement of metrology procedures and best practices.
Recommended Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Metrology Quality Assurance or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other metrology equipment.
- Proficiency with a wide range of precision measurement hand tools (e.g. calipers micrometers height gauges bore gauges).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints including comprehensive understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Fundamental understanding of calibration principles measurement uncertainty and quality management systems.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with advanced CMM programming (e.g. PC-DMIS scripting) or metrology data analysis software.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
- Proficiency in applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards to complex parts.
- Experience with optical metrology systems (e.g. laser scanners vision systems) in addition to tactile CMMs.
