Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise dimensional inspections of manufactured parts using CMM optical comparators and other metrology equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain a variety of measurement tools and gauges according to established schedules and standards.
• Analyze measurement data identify trends and provide feedback for process improvement and quality control.
• Develop document and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for metrology processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with metrology equipment ensuring accuracy and uptime.
• Generate detailed inspection and calibration reports maintaining accurate records and traceability.
• Assist in the selection validation and implementation of new metrology equipment and techniques.

Recommended Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Metrology Quality Control or a related technical field.
• 2 years of hands-on experience with precision measurement tools (e.g. CMM optical comparator calipers micrometers).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated ability to operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using industry-standard software.
• Strong understanding of calibration principles measurement uncertainty and quality control standards (e.g. ISO 9001).

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification
• Experience with programming automated metrology equipment (e.g. CMM scripting vision system programming)
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) software and data analysis tools (e.g. Minitab JMP)
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks CATIA) for model-based metrology applications
• Experience developing and delivering metrology training or standard operating procedures
