Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products components or systems using CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings specifications and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Conduct design analysis simulations and prototyping to validate concepts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production efficiency (DFM/DFA).
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements and cost.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues during manufacturing and implement corrective actions.
• Manage design documentation and engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD Inventor) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Demonstrated ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to engineering drawings.
• Experience with material selection analysis and testing for various industrial applications.
• Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing designs for cost performance and production efficiency.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping fabrication or machining processes.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Familiarity with automation robotics or Industry 4.0 concepts.
