The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Zeeland that are seeking Design Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products components or systems from concept to production.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models drawings and specifications.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing quality and supply chain.
• Conduct design analysis simulations and prototype testing to validate designs.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and implement design improvements.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal performance and cost.
• Resolve design-related production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor CATIA) for part and assembly design.
• Strong understanding of common manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication).
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Knowledge of engineering materials and their selection for manufacturing applications.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced simulation tools (e.g. FEA CFD).
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in prototyping testing or fabrication.
• Proficiency with Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Knowledge of specific manufacturing processes (e.g. injection molding sheet metal additive manufacturing).
