The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across DeWitt seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials components and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing terms and delivery schedules to optimize cost and quality.
• Generate and manage purchase orders ensuring timely delivery to meet production demands.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning to prevent stockouts or overstock.
• Identify and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or supply.
• Manage supplier relationships including performance evaluation and issue resolution.
• Ensure all procured materials comply with quality standards and specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of direct purchasing or procurement experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) for purchasing inventory and supplier management.
• Demonstrated strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills with a focus on cost reduction.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes materials and supply chain principles.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with international sourcing import/export regulations and global logistics.
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g. CPSM) or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle including supplier portal management.
